Paris, France - Phillip Bloch is considered to be the leading fashion stylist to Hollywood ’s royalty. For more than a decade, he has built a dream list of celebrity clients whom he has transformed for red carpet appearances at the Oscars and Golden Globes as well as for the covers and pages of such references as In Style, Vogue, US, and Entertainment Weekly. His work is associated with Halle Berry, Salma Hayek, Vivica A. Fox, Jim Carrey, John Travolta, Sandra Bullock, Faye Dunaway, Nicole Kidman, Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Bloch, literally a multi-faceted one-man author, actor, writer, fashion guru, and spokesperson, now appears in the new VH1 reality television series, Glam God with Viviva A. Fox. Witty and outspoken, he jokingly admits to “solving world peace, cancer or AIDS”during his spare time all while getting to work with Ms. Fox, his best friend. Just after the show’s première, TheFashionInsider.com managed to catch up to Phillip in New York for an old fashion, tell-all interview. Here are the excerpts from our interview…
FI: How long have you and Vivica Fox known each other?
PB: We’ve been friends for years. She did a television show, and I styled her for the cover of TV Guide, and we became friends... As it goes, you have your red carpet friends, then you have your Hollywood friends and then you have real friends. Viv and I are real friends. I love her, and can honestly say that we are real friends, and it shows in 'Glam God'. Once in a while, there is a camaraderie that is evident. 'In Sex and the City', there seemed to be that among the actress…
FI: LOL!!! Yeah, but there wasn’t any camaraderie among the actresses in Sex and the City!
