Paris, France - Junko Shimada has found inspiration for her work in an unexpected mix from Blade Runner and Shanghai Surprize. For this new Fall Winter 2008/09 collection, she has created 20 very different looks in metallic, yet organic materials like leathers and suedes. These skins appear in gold, fuchsia, silver, electric blue, radiating red, green, coral, silver, black, etc. Each look is accessorized with one of 20 different pairs of shoes, which bear a striking ressemblance to Tibetan architecture.
The silhouettes impose massively knit cardigans, rhinestone covered bags and cut away gloves. Though very contrasting to her past two ultra-sophisticated, yet style-wise accessible collections, this new collection remains very very feminine and ultimately very Junko Shimada.
