On Friday May, 20, former First Lady and current New York senator, Hillary Rodham Clinton, rubbed elbows with some of New England’s most stylish socialites at a fundraiser/cocktail for the Every Child Matters Education Fund.

The event was a rare opportunity to speak with some of New England’s most prominent socialites and to learn a bit more of their style choices in their world replete with social obligations. Here, European and American labels got on well together.

Lorna Brett Howard of New York hosted the fundraiser in her elegant home located adjacent to Gramercy Park, New York’s only private park.

Mrs. Howard opted for a layered dress in green created by Prada, and which falls just below the knees. The dress was set off by a wide satin belt and Mrs. Howard’s sensible selection of diamond earrings and a gold bracelet.

Jessie Brett, the mother of Mrs. Howard, was lovely in an Elaine Fisher dress, complimented by an Hermès scarf.

Male elegance was well represented at this event by the realtor Kenyatte M. Lyles of Atlanta, Georgia. He opted for a more relaxed feel created by his ensemble of a Ralph Lauren crewneck sweater and slacks by Ben Sherman. He accessorised the look with a necklace and a ring both by Tiffany’s, a diamond Movado watch and shoes by Cole Haan.

New York Socialite and Entertainment Tonight Correspondent Chrishaunda Lee was all sophistication in her black Anne Klein pant suit and red top by Chloé. For this event, she opted for high heeled, peek-a-boo open-toe pumps in black by Max Azria, which gave to her great hip movement as she strolled along among the other guests.

Like Ms. Lee, Senator Clinton wore a pants ensemble in marine blue and a chemise in soft blue. She wore a beautiful collier in gold and blue with matching earrings. Her broach in gold and in two shades of blue completed the look for the former First Lady, who was also the keynote sp...
