Nicosia, Cyprus – Fashion Insider TV and TheFashionInsider.com Magazine’s aggressive expansion of our fashion coverage has not only afforded us the occasion to participate as active members of the international press corps at newly organised fashion weeks, but also the opportunity to discover new designers and local fashion houses that crowd their runways. Our most recent discovery is the Cyprus Fashion Week which took place in March in Nicosia.

Organised by DIAS Publishing House, the first ever Cyprus Fashion Week took place over a several day period. The Paris based, Cypriot designer Erotokritos, as well as already internationally established stars Ramona Filip, Yiannos Xenis and Afroditi Hera lent their collective prestige to the event through their own participation.

Cyprus’s fashion week aspirations are just an added proof of the rise of other potentially important industry poles which can gain a measure of importance along side Paris, New York, Milan and London. They represent the true globalisation of local, regional and national brands. This has also resulted in many of the same buyers and journalists from the United States, Canada, France, Italy, Belgium, Russia, Dubai, etc. making the trip to other fashion weeks of growing importance like Tokyo, Athens, Moscow, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Lisbon, Barcelona, Madrid, Chicago and even to India. There, they are discovering local and regional talents who are hungry to make their names known around the world.

This edition of TheFashionInsider.com Magazine is dedicated to the hard work of the designers and fashion houses showing in Greece and in Cyprus.
