Atlanta, GA - Classic Chastain Park ’s intimate atmosphere was the venue of choice for a musical evening with acclaimed jazz trumpeter Chris Botti and singer Paula Cole. Chastain Park, known to many as Atlanta’s favorite outdoor experience, has been the preferred events place for several musical icons such as David Sanborn, Natalie Cole, George Benson, Clay Aiken, The B52s, and Jill Scott, who will performs July 30 th .
As candles burned and wine poured, spectators were treated to the sensual smooth sounds of Botti and his band. If you are part of a generation that is not familiar with his music, he has been compared to Chet Baker and Herb Alpert. His style of entertainment is so charismatic, passive and serene that it is sure to calm the nerves of even the most uptight person.
Dressed casually in jeans, button down shirt and dark blazer, Botti’s trumpet resonated classic tunes such as a “The Look of Love” and “My Funny Valentine”. His love of jazz music has been eloquently influenced by the late Miles Davis whom he’s admired since his teenage years. Accompanied on stage by Cole, whose vocals were a sheer compliment to the sophisticated vibrations of the trumpet, the duo were an instant hit, even though, by Botti’s own admission, they’d only ehearsed a few songs on their way to the concert.
A few short years ago, Oprah Winfrey had Botti perform at a dream wedding for a lucky couple. Shortly thereafter, the artist saw cd sales skyrocket in less than a week. A pure treat to indulge in, this is an artist whose music will be a sure crowd pleaser for years and years to come.
