Milan, Italy - Shifting from last falls’ focus on the cut of the blazer, the Milan-based Japanese designer Giuliano Fujiwara, chose to concentrate on the contemporary Samurai spirit as inspiration. In his new Fall Winter 2010/11 collection, he has fused the concept of East meeting West into a sophisticated, strong identifiable line.

Heavy quadriple layering characterized the collection typical of the Samurai warrior translated into active contemporary sportswear. Wide pants transformed into pleated skirts with medium sized belts sitting prominently on the waists, under shirts tied around the waist, short leather jackets and extra long sweaters. Materials were a variety of mohair, silk/ cashemere and leather produced in reds, blacks and grey color tones.

Accessories were an important aspect of the line with gold and silver collars and armbands, extra long necklaces reminiscent of Buddhist rosaries and lace up ankle boots.
