London, UK - Cerruti has announced the coming of Richard Nicoll as its new artistic director for the women’s division.

Before joining the Cerruti team, Nicholl had earned a solid reputation as a skilled and creative talent in the business. After graduating from St. Martin’s School of Design in 2002, he honed his talents in Marc Jacobs’ team at Louis Vuitton. In 2005, he launched his eponymous line. He has earned numerous awards for his solo work. The British Fashion council bestowed him with its “Fashion Forward” award during three consecutive seasons. In 2008 he received three awards at ANDAM. And just last spring, he captured the “Best Young Designer Award” at the British Elle Style Awards.

“ This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for me. I greatly admire the relaxed elegance of Cerruti and the impeccable style of Nino Cerruti”, said Nicholl in a prepared statement on his appointment. To be the new Woman Creative Director of this amazing team is a real honour and privilege .”

Nicoll will make his debut as the house’s lead designer during the March 2010 ready-to-wear shows for the Fall Winter 2010/11 season. He will fulfill his duties at Cerruti while continuing to design his own collection.
