Milan, Italy - During a pre-show interview with Fashion Insider TV, Dirk Bikkembergs spoke of his trip to Australia where by accident, he discovered the work of a local artist. Enthralled by what he found, a hurriedly arranged meeting between the two resulted in the elaboration of art pieces which would influence the new Bikkembergs Sport Couture collection. This is seen in the numbers prominently displayed on the pieces and in the silhouettes.
Bikkembergs began the show with an onslaught of “Thriller” red suits in jerseys and knits. Some of the silhouettes are accessorized with over sized bags, brilliant buttons, etc. His denim street suit and sleeveless leather pieces in perforated leather also appears in this red which recalls of the glory days of the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. But all similarities between this collection and the defunct star stop there.
To the collection the designer adds whites and blues which brandish the numbers of which he spoke of during his pre-show interview. He has used them in his short sleeve knit top with square cut neck line. To them we find the return of the red leisure suits with large pockets and to them, red leather biker shorts are added.
This Sport Couture line also has fitted leather shirts in red, brown and black. And of course, it would be remiss of one to think that Dirk Bikkemberg could possibly neglect the nightlife aspect of his creation. For the occasion, he has created black tuxes in sparkle silks. Some are done in red of course, but with black lapels.
No matter where the Bikkemberg man goes, he is sure to be noticed. No matter the colour that he wears, he will become the cent...
