Paris , France - Jean Paul Gaultier chose lots of whites and blacks to open up the ball of his new collection for Spring/Summer 2010. The silhouettes are cut more classically than in previous seasons. However, pieces like his low cut black top worn with a beige suit with black vertical strips on the inseams have the typical Gaultier flair. These tops actually reveal themselves to be halter tops and appear in darkened and washout blues, black and in ruby slipper red sequins.

"We always take things from men's fashion and put them in women's fashion", said he in a post-show interview with Fashion Insider TV. "This time I want to take from women ad give back to men... And as you can see, the tops lik this reveal very nice shoulders and pectoral muscles on a man who goes to the gym for working out."

The collection looks to be a happening of many micro-collections that have been brought together for a common purpose, and then unified by colour and accessories. The pants legs are large in the later half of the collection. It is here where we see many shorts and pants emerge with a sarong quarter integrated from the left leg before reaching over to the waist where it finishes. This look, in navy blue, is followed by a full length pair of elephant legged pants in white.
