Paris , France - Chris van Assche has decided to bare the elbows, arms, shoulders, ankles and calves for Spring/Summer 2009. He has created silhouettes composed of ultra light fabrics that allow comfort and breathing space for those who love to layer clothing year round.

The fabrics have to be really light in order to remain comfortable in hot weather, said he minutes after the show to Fashion Insider TV.

We find wide shorts in black, greys, whites, etc which reveal the knees and the leg. Also many of the pieces have some pleating which creates more volume. His ultra light jackets in faded grey are trimmed and traced in white. He has created a light jersey blazer which keeps the momentum flowing. This piece is worn with a white top over a blue top representing the layering that dominated much of the collection. The long djellaba is worn with shorts which are in turn layered over slim slacks. Some of the light baggy shorts are worn over knit Capri length leggings.

From watching the nonchalant manner of the models, one got the impression that they were extremely comfortable in the collection. This is an interesting observation as the models cast in Assches show are the same one cast in many of the top shows in Milan and around Paris . And when they look comfortable in garments while on the runway, it is sure that the buyers are taking note of it too.
