Paris , France - For his Fall Winter 2009/2010 Gaultier² line, Jean Paul Gauliter has decided to work on the theme of mixing. It is no secret that the French grand couturier has made a career out of his gender challenging creations. But this season, he renews with the elements that particularly define the artistic DNA of this stupendous line.

Suspenders have a prominent roll as the defining detail of this new collection Fall Winter 2009 collection. Placed around the legs of his men’s suits, on the back of his coats and on the sides of his trench coats and blazers, they bring that touch of “Gaultier” to each piece and bring unity to the collection.


Gaultier’s antidote to the current financial crisis is to also involve as many people as possible in the never ending quest for personal style. He created this collection with a mixture of ages, ethnicities, and styles etc. in mind. On that note, he also took advantage of the show as the launch pad from which he presented his new kids line. Adorable to the last one, the kids silhouettes presented in the collection are miniature versions of what some of what we found in the line presented during the show and also have the principal line’s creative DNA.
