Paris , France - Looks like justice has finally caught up to OJ Simpson. Yesterday the former football great was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison by a Las Vegas court for his part in organising a kidnapping and armed robbery to reclaim his “stolen” memorabilia. The incident took place on November 13, 2007, and Simpson had 5 accomplices.
At the sentencing, he said in a somewhat cracked and weakened voice, "I didn’t want to hurt anybody. I didn't know I was doing anything wrong ... I stand before you somewhat confused." He claimed as he rambled on for about five minutes that he was simply trying to recover property that had been stolen from his family.
Obviously there is a sense of déjà-vu in this case as members of both the Goldman and Brown families were present at the sentencing. They feel that Simpson is finally getting a dose of justice after his 1995 acquittal for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
In unrelated former celebrity-turn-convict news, former singer Boy George was condemned yesterday too by British courts in London for his role in April 28, 2007 beating of a male prostitute/escort/”model” ( READ RELATED ARTICLE ).
Boy George, 47, was accused of holding 29 year old Auden Calsen prisoner in his home where he chained him naked against the wall, screamed at him, slapped him repeatedly beat him.
Now the sick twist to this is that the former 1980s pop and fashion icon allegedly did so while playing his hit song, “ Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?”
During this week’s trial, the revelations kept coming. On Wednesday Calsen declared:
- “He clearly wanted to have sexual relations with me. I said, ‘No’. I don’t want to sleep with someone that I’m not attracted to.”
