Paris , France – Whenever doing something creative, it is always a good idea to pull research from one’s personal life and experiences. This is just what Sophie Albou did when she conceived her Spring Summer 2009 collection. For this splendidly exciting collection, the designer drew on her recent memories from her vacation time spent in Los Angeles and Saint Tropez.

The principal idea her is fun, sun, cool drinks on the beach, music and excitement tempered only by a bit of relaxation when needed. Albou has translated this into swimwear, racy lace-up micro shorts, bustier top dresses, and lots of denim pieces such as skirts and short dungarees.

Foolish would be the one who did not expect sexiness to appear throughout the collection. She has created white cotton lace dresses and tops which move with the slightest of efforts while simultaneously creating much movement around the hips like a whirling cyclone. To turn up the heat, she has created pants which lace up at the out-seams from the ankle all the way up to the waist.

One must also note that Sophie’s outlook on Spring-Summer 2009 is rather very optimistic. She has given us lots of colours in certain pieces like the pants, the skirts, and her silk printed dresses. Some of them have a sparkling glitter effect. Through all of this, she has still managed to intermix in the collection rare moments of calm.

Crowning off the collection, Albou has given us chiffon and silk dresses with lively prints such as paisley and polka dots in the liveliest of colours. These dresses flow, they bounce, they dance and prance around in the most playful of manners.
