Paris , France – For Spring/Summer 2009, Antonio Marras has decided to re-tell the story of the adventures of Alice during her stay in Wonderland. With his crayons, he has envisioned the heroine of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (aka Lewis Carroll) novel as a fashion forward young girl who finds adventures in a world of soft pastels and prints, which float among the silks and crystals found in the garments of the powerful and beautiful collection.

“I see the colours as what would have been once Alice falls in the water. They are subtle and not violent”, said Marras in a post-show interview with Fashion Insider TV.

The prints are light and airy. They are accentuated in movement through the volumes that Marras has created around the bust and the hips. These colours include taupe, grey, some, silver, greens, pinks, brown, etc.

Closing the show in true Kenzo fashion, Marras’s Alice finds herself at the head of the runway where her adventure began. Then suddenly giant pop-up books open around her. These books once again reveal the magic of the story and of the irrepressible creative imagination of Antonio Marras .
