Paris , France – French fashion house Sonia Rykiel is preparing the first large scale exposition dedicated to the work of its namesake founder. Simply titled, “Sonia Rykiel Exhibition”, this exposition coincides with and celebrates the 40 th year Anniversary of the founding of the legendary house.

When once asked during a television interview why she never launched herself into the world of haute couture, she responded that “the Rykiel woman is not a woman of couture, but she is rather a woman of culture”.

Today the brand includes the principal ready-to-wear line, derivative lines, accessories and cosmetics. And through 220 silhouettes, photographs, fashion show footage, etc., the public will be able to retrace the roots of the design legacy created by Rykiel in 1968 and follow her footsteps that made her into an internationally respected designer and businesswoman.

The exposition will take place at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs from November 20 th to April 19 th .
