Atlanta , Georgia - Crate & Barrel is officially closing its Perimeter Mall store on Sunday leaving two locations opened in Atlanta . Located at the mall for fourteen years, the lease is up and spokespeople for the company says “its strategy is to close house wares-only stores and focus on furniture-locations”. Victoria Secret will be the 12,700 square foot space’s new occupant.

The buzz immediately began circulating around the city. There leads to the assumption that Crate & Barrel aficionados will be traveling quickly between today and Sunday to buy left over inventory. Crate & Barrel is an American chain of retail stores founded by Gordon and Carole Segal in Chicago , Illinois in the early 1960s. Its distinctive name was chosen due to the materials used to display products in the couple’s first store. The Segals planned to name their company “Barrel and Crate”, but a friend recommended they reverse the names instead.
