London, UK –The British designer Alexander McQueen has declared that Paris Hilton will not be welcomed at the opening of his new Los Angeles boutique. That’s right! After Balenciaga’s recent snubbing of Kanye West and his fiancé Alexis Phifer at that house’s February fashion show in Paris ( READ HERE ), McQueen has become the next famous designer to snub another high profile celebrity!
The superstar designer has a history of hostility towards Ms. Hilton. In 2007, he declared in Harper’s Bazaar that he does not want to be associated with the type of celebrity that heiress represents. He also declared that he only works with people that he respects and admires regardless of what they wear.
McQueen does not want anything to do with the iconic celebutante because he finds here too superficial. And according to accounts published in the online edition of the French newspaper, Liberation, the designer has solemnly stated that, “If she [Paris Hilton] shows up, she will remain at the door”.
McQueen’s position is a respectable one. It WOULD EVEN BE all too easily understandable by all were it not for the fact that he wants Amy Winehouse present at the opening. This all seems to be a strange illusion! McQueen, on the one hand has banned Paris Hilton because she is too “superficial”, but on the other hand, he would not hesitate to invite the world’s most notorious drug addict. At this point, Winehouse will not be appearing or performing anywhere on American territory due to the US government’s considering her to be an “undesirable” person to who it should not issue a visa due to her highly publicised drug habits.
The boutique is slated for opening next month in May. Among the confirmed guests for the boutique are stars Victoria Beckham, Katie Holmes, Lucy Liu and Sienne Miller. They represent a handful of the celebrities expected to show up for the opening of the 300 square meters locale situated in Melrose Place.
