Paris, France – The French design star, Christian Lacroix, signed a splendidly beautiful collection for next Fall-Winter 2008/09 at the Espace Ephemere created in the Tuileries gardens of the Louvre. The collection is greatly set apart from those shown thus far for next season on the runways of Paris largely due to its, luxurious and non-restricting silhouettes.

Sitting front row at the show was the stunning American actress, Vivica A. Fox and the reality television star, Miss Jay Alexander. The two gave approving looks as the models took the runway in Lacroix’s bold designs. Wide boat neck collars on tops, coats and jackets became the collection’s recurrent leitmotif. In one such instance, we find a dramatic coat in hot pink with voluminous sleeves. Other pieces with this boat neck collar reveal the shoulders in the most feminine of ways. Throughout the show, Lacroix frequently sent out pieces in hot pink!

Many pieces have important details such as a few embroideries here and there, but with lots of studded pieces as witnessed on some of the jackets.

From Lacroix we should look forward to seeing in the editorial pages of the top magazines his sleeveless, shoulder revealing satin mini-dress in a concord grape satin. It should be frequently joined by the designer’s perfect little satin mini-dress in orange. The bust of this hot little number is created by a huge and dramatic bow which sets off the face, shoulders and collar bone.
