Paris, France - The holidays provided the backdrop of a star-studded season for this editor. From Paris to Atlanta, it all proved to be an exciting time, but it also provided some unexpected moments including a surprise visit from the Tony Award winning Actress and Grammy Award winning songstress, Ms. Jennifer Holliday.
The party season began with me accompanying the singers Chris Willis (Love Is Gone, Money; Love Don’t Let Me Go; Just A Little More Love; etc.) of Atlanta and Cozi of London (Baby When The Light) to the recording studios of the French television network, TF1 for the recording of two different musical specials featuring the most successful and respected French singers. The stars packed the backstage lodges and included, Hélène Segara, Alizée, Pascal Obispo, Lori, Mareeva Galanter, and of course David Guetta, the world's top selling DJ of 2007 with whom Chris and Cozi performed individually.
Backstage Guetta’s recording label, EMI presented several awards including to Guetta for best selling DJ of the year and presented platinum awards to Guetta and Chris Willis for the international smash hit, Love Is Gone. At that time, Guetta commented to TheFashionInsider.com that he was ecstatic about this award and humbled that the fans had brought to him such success.
After an improvised wrestling match between Guetta and producer Joachim Garraud, the performing trio took to separate stages. When the program host announced David Guetta’s name as the next artist to perform, the audience went wild. They were then driven into mad frenzy when Chris Willis delivered scorching performances of Love Is Gone. Already excited, the audience crowded the next stage like freeloaders at a church picnic to hear the lovely Cozi perform.
After the show, Cozi, Chris and I headed back to their hotel and then to dinner. Cozi is a lovely young woman with a beautiful voice which easily delivers catchy tunes that are destined to become club favourites. It was upon her insistence that I try the jasmine tea that she had ordered. Being the gentleman, I decided to serve her tea but instead clumsily poured half of it onto her pants. Luckily, it was winter and she wore jeans to dinner that night which protected her from any real harm. After chatting over numerous cross-industry issues and becoming personally better acquainted, we all had a brilliant evening just enjoying each other’s company. ...
