Paris, France - Le Bon Marché in Paris is exclusively carrying the exquisite haute joaillerie collection created by the Indian princess, Nupur Rana.

Princess Nupur describes the collection as “traditional pieces toned down for the practical uses of today’s modern woman”.

She designs the collection between her travels between Europe and India. It is produced in Indian ateliers dating back to the 11th Century and with a rich tradition of working with the Indian royal court. Some pieces are made from a ancient technique called “theva” in which emeralds are melted down and then reform in new shapes before being cooled for decoration. Each stone found in the collection appears in its natural state. She works with opal, topaz, pearls, amethyst, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and of course diamonds.

Nuper was born in Rajasthan, India. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of New York, and then move on to Paris Fashion Institute to further develop her talents. Her creations are faithful to the rich tradition of India and can be seen in the pages of many high profile magazines and publications including the New York Times Magazine, Elle, the Times of India, Madame Figaro, l’Express, l’Officiel, Marie Claire, W Magazine, etc.

The prices for the pieces in the collection begin in the area of 845 Euros for earrings and run upwardly to just under 4000 Euros for her multi-tier necklaces ($1050 to $5640).

All profits from the sale of the jewellery collection benefit the Nupur Foundation which seeks to help the poor children of India in matters of health care and education. She says that she feels compelled to give of herself to help the children who have “smiles that never fade” in spite of their difficult existence.
